ecoStain, ecofriendly timber and wood stain

»Tuesday, February 9,2010

There are a variety of wood stains currently on the market. None are as environmentally-responsible as ecoStain from Earth and Reed. Derived from the Fence and Barn Paint, its simple ingredients create a protective and decorative stain on bare wood. It can be applied to rough and smooth timber and it can be brushed or sprayed on.

To improve Earth and Reed’s environmental footprint, ecoStain is sold in a concentrated form. This also cuts down on carriage costs for customers of what would be a heavy product. You simply dilute the concentrate with warm water and apply.

Two coats are recommended to give a good spread of colour. Additional coats will gradually obliterate the visible grain of the timber, so you can decide how much wood you want to have visible. The choice is yours. Each coat will be touch dry within 30 minutes. For every 7m² of timber you will require 1 litre of diluted ecoStain per coat.

ecoStain is available in a selection of shades, including Blue Smoke, Mid Brown, Scandinavian Red, Sinfield Grey and Dark Green.
