The Pure H2O Company has developed and tested the UK’s first whole-house Rain Water Harvest system that replaces tap water with water around 20 times purer than London tap water and could help make you water self sufficient.

Rain Switch from The Pure H2O Company is a total solution for the collection, storage and treatment of rainwater through to delivery into the home and controls to reliably switch between mains and rain when required.

The system follows four stages:

Stage 1:  Lift Station

Lift stations which simplifies the collection of rain water, installed close to drain pipes eliminating the need for long runs of pipe and trench work.  Housed within the lift station are two filters. First, an organic sieve removes leaves, moss and other matter that collect from your roof.  Second, the water is pumped through the patented Aquashield to remove micro-organisms and sediment to 5 microns.  The Aquashield is the only filter capable of removing micro-organisms as effectively as UV.  The treated water then passes (through 50mm MDPE) to Stage 2.

Stage 2:  Clean Store

The clean store comprises a two stage Polypropylene tank, the most suitable high grade polymer for use with potable water, that will not leach and preserves the taste and purity of the treated rain water.  The secondary internal service shaft sits proud (at finished ground level) of the main tank to increase rigidity and allows easy access for connection of the return pump, float switch, feed, return ports and clean breath system.

The Clean Breath system from The Pure H2O Company eliminates the natural ingress of dirt, organic matter, rodents and airborne particles that would otherwise contaminate the water.  Water entering the clean store is potable and more than 25 times purer than most London Tap Water.

Storage of rain water is one of the primary factors in determining suitability for end use. Clean Store provides a more hygienic solution to conventional rain tanks thereby reducing the level of contaminants and safeguarding quality prior to stage 3.

Stage 3:  RainSwitch

Total microbiological and organic filtration is controlled by the RainSwitch enabling you to safely use rain water throughout the home.  The rain switch comprises a two stage filtration system and controls the type of water used by use of level switches located in the lift station and clean store.

Further intelligent features enable you to control the water pressure to deliver higher pressure than mains water and probably twice the flow rate! The system even allows you to change pressure should your requirements change.  It also meters the water consumption on both rain and mains water so that we can determine how close to self sufficiency you have become.

When the clean store is full, rain switch automatically stops the lift station pump and water simply runs off to your irrigation systems or a soak away.

Be water self sufficient, with water that is naturally soft and pure.
