PLASTI  DECKING USED ON COWES TRINITY LANDING

Cowes Harbour Commissioners have recently commissioned the Trinity Landing facility on Cowes Parade.  The 100 metre long 5 metre wide pontoon is accessed by a substantial steel access bridge, both of which have been manufactured with recycled plastic decking supplied by Plasti Ltd.

Captain Stuart McIntosh stated that he had considered various decking options offered and found that the Plasti material combined a safe surface with high durability, thereby giving excellent whole life cost as part of a sustainable solution.  The pale grey coloured textured boards are 28mm thick with tongue and groove joints.

The landing facility project was let as a design and construct contract to Mackley Construction.  The specialist contractor for the pontoon was Docking Solutions of Totnes, Devon and the access bridge was built by Nusteel Structures of Hythe, Kent.
