Figures recently released by the Environment Agency show that Britain is struggling to reach its 30 per cent recycling target for WEEE.

There has been an increase in recycling rates, but unfortunately, this is as a result of more data being reported rather than a physical increase in actual WEEE recycling.

At WeeeCollect.com we believe that much of the missing 600,000 tonnes per annum is still in bedrooms and garages throughout the land. Much of this waste will still end up in landfill.

Distributors and retailers clearly want to provide recycling services to their customers but the Distributor Takeback Scheme DTS has done little to provide this, despite costing retailers £10,000,000 over the last three years
